چکیده
Sulfabenzamide (SBZ) is widely used in pharmaceuticals because of its antibacterial and antimicrobic properties. Sulfabenzamide is poorly water-soluble that improving solubility of poorly water-soluble drugs is one of the most emerging issues associated with these drugs to form a suitable dosage form that will provide a desired pharmacological response. Cyclodextrin modified nanoparticles are of great attention as they appreciably improve the characteristics of the catalytic properties. Cyclodextrin is capable of capturing a large number of organic molecules, of appropriate size and shape, to form the well-defined host-guest complex. Catalytic-based cyclodextrins as ligands such as methyl beta-cyclodextrin (M-β-CD) are water-soluble chemical receptors that have the ability to form an inclusion complex with drugs and can increase the water-solubility of organic substrates by inclusion into their hydrophobic cavity. Inclusion complex SBZ/ M-β-CD were prepared by freeze-drying (FD) methods in the 1:1 molar ratio on the basis of the results obtained from the phase solubility diagram. The phase-solubility diagram according to Higuchi and Connors method for the SBZ showed an increase in water solubility and the stability constant calculated: Kc= 56 M−1 with M-β-CD. The result of the complexation was characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).کليدواژه ها
